Smith, who died on 9 May 1854 at the age of 65 years.

She married twice. She married William H. Deeble 18 Dec 1807 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(277) Henry Scarborough was the security on the M.L.B. of William H. Deeble and Eliza K. Scarborough.

William was born circa 1780 in Accomack Co, VA. She married John Smith (Craddock) 26 Nov 1812 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(278) Charles Smith was the security on the M.L.B. of John Smith and Elizabeth Deeble, widow of William.

John was born circa 1780 in Accomack Co, VA. John died Nov 1838 at 58 years of age.(279)

Elizabeth was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(280) She was shown as Elizabeth Scarburgh, a daughter of Jane Scarburgh dec'd and a niece of Edward Ker the younger.

Elizabeth was named in her brother's will 14 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(281) She was named as sister Eliza Ker Scarburgh in the will of Edward Ker Scarburgh. Since she had a guardian, was was evidently under age at this time.

Elizabeth was named as administrator of an estate 26 Nov 1838 in Accomack Co, VA.(282) It was on this date that Elizabeth K. Smith was named to settle the estate of John Smith (Craddock). Ellison A. Hopkins, Benjamin Stringer and James A. Bell were the securities.

She made a will 11 Sep 1849 in Accomack Co, VA.(283) To son James T. C. Smith all my land & he to pay his 3 Smith sisters Margaret A. West, Emily K. S. Bell & Mary C. S. Fisher $500 each. My man Shepherd his freedom at my death. Personal estate & money to be divided into 6 parts: to Edward K. S. Deeble 1/6 with $100 out of that to his son William H. Deeble; to Jane Hopkins 1/6 & $100 of that to her son John W. M. Hopkins; to Margaret A. West 1/6 provided she will let Shepherd go free; to Emily K. S. Bell 1/6 provided she will let Shepherd go free; to Mary C. S. Fisher 1/6 provided she will let Shepherd go free; to James T. C. Smith 1/6 provided he will let Shepherd go free & should my 4 Smith children refuse to comply with letting Shepherd go free, then all their shares are to be held in the hands of my Extrs. until my man Shepherd is sold & they are to buy him with the same money ... & if my 4 Smith children let Shepherd go free, then each is to pay him $2 a piece. Ellison A. Hopkins & Samuel P. Fisher, M. W. West, W. T. Bell my Extrs. If Shepherd dies before me, then my 4 Smith children to have equal 1/6 shares with my Deeble children. Elizabeth was listed as a head of household in the census of 1850 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(284) She was shown as Eliza K. Smith the head of HH#816, age 60 and farming with real estate valued at $2,000. Listed with her were Jas. T.C. Smith, age 21 and farming and the following Fishers: Mary C., age 26; Wilmer W., age 5; Ellison D., age 1; and Sam'l P., a 33 year old sailor.

Elizabeth's will was probated 26 Jun 1854 in Accomack Co, VA.(285) It was partly proved on 29 May 1854 and finally proved on 26 Jun 1854.

Elizabeth Ker Scarburgh and William H. Deeble had the following children:

James was listed with his mother in the census of 1850 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(289) He was shown as Jas. T.C. Smith, age 21 and farming in HH#816 headed by Elizabeth K. Smith, age 60 and farming with real estate valued at $2,000.
