He married twice. He married Ann Parker Teackle 26 Sep 1808 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(241) Edmund Read was the security on the M.L.B. of William M. Scarburgh and Ann P. Teackle.

Ann was born 8 Jan 1790 in Accomack Co, VA.(242) Ann(243) was the daughter of Arthur Teackle and Elizabeth Parker. Ann died 4 Oct 1817 at 27 years of age.(244) Her body was interred in Hedra Cottage, Scarborough Neck, Acc Co, VA.(245) He married Elizabeth Maria Read 17 Feb 1818 (lic) in Worcester Co, MD.(246) He was shown as William M. Scarborough and she was shown as Eliza Maria Read. No other information was given.

Elizabeth was born 11 Jun 1797 in Accomack Co, VA.(247) Elizabeth died 24 Jul 1873 at 76 years of age.(248) Her body was interred in Hedra Cottage, Scarborough Neck, Acc Co, VA.(249)

William was named in his father's will 14 Sep 1797 in Accomack Co, VA.(250) He was named as an underage son William Mered: K. Scarburgh in the will of Edmund Scarburgh Sr.

William was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(251) He was shown as William Scarburgh, a son of Jane Scarburgh dec'd and a nephew of Edward Ker the younger.

William was named in his brother's will 14 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(252) He was named as brother William M. Scarburgh in the will of Edward Ker Scarburgh.

He made a will 24 Mar 1821 in Accomack Co, VA.(253) Sell perishable property. To wife Eliza Maria Scarburgh one piano forte & ... & Negro girl Arianna. If not enough monies were raised from the perishable property, then sell a farm called Chinquapine Grove adjoining the farm on which I live called Hedra Cottage. The cleared land belonging to Chinquapine Grove together with 16 acres of woodland lying on the northwest part of said farm, except the right of the Shores on the west side of the little creek which divides Chinquapine Grove from Hedra Cottage to be the line between the farms. William's will was probated 30 Apr 1821 in Accomack Co, VA.(254) William was named as an heir of Rev War Vetran 31 Jan 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(255) In the estate settlement of David Bowman, he was shown as William M. Scarburgh and received £16.11.0 for his 1/7 of 1/9 of the estate of Edward Ker Jr. (Note: The settlement was finally recored on 31 Jan 1825, but the actual payment may have been years earlier, as David Bowman died in 1805.)

William Meredith Ker Scarburgh and Ann Parker Teackle had the following children:

child 53 i. Harriet Jane4 Scarburgh(256) was born in Accomack Co, VA 31 Nov 1809. Harriet died 31 Jan 1813 at 3 years of age. Her body was interred in Hedra Cottage, Scarborough Neck, Acc Co, VA. Her tombstone shows her as Harriet Jane Scarburgh, daugher of Wm. M. & A.P. Scarburgh, who died on 31 Jan 1813 at the age of 3 years and 2 months.

child 55 iii. William Edward Scarburgh(257) was born in Accomack Co, VA 16 Dec 1814.(258) William died 16 Jun 1815 at less than one year of age.(259) His body was interred in Hedra Cottage, Scarborough Neck, Acc Co, VA.(260)

William Meredith Ker Scarburgh and Elizabeth Maria Read had the following child:

Scarburgh(261) was born in Accomack Co, VA 14 Jul 1819.(262) Jane died 4 Dec 1852 in Accomack Co, VA, at 33 years of age.(263) Her body was interred in Hedra Cottage, Scarborough Neck, Acc Co, VA.(264) Her tombstone shows her as Jane M.K. Kellam, the widow of John C. Kellam and the daugher of Wm. M. & E.M. Scarborough. She married John C. Kellam 8 Nov 1837 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(265) Joseph S. Hill and William Burton were the securities on the M.L.B. of John C. Kellam, widower, and Jane M.K. Scarburgh.

John was born 23 Oct 1792 in Accomack Co, VA.(266) John died 7 Sep 1845 at 52 years of age.(267) His body was interred in Myrtle Grove, Hacks Neck, Acc Co, VA.(268) He was shown as John C. Kellam, the son of John & Marg't (Hatton) Kellam and is buried next to Lydia M. Kellam.

Jane was named in her sister's will 11 Mar 1848 in Accomack Co, VA.(269) She was shown as my sister Jane M.K. Kellam in the will of Elizabeth A.P. Custis.

Jane was listed as a head of household in the census of 1850 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(270) She was shown as Jane Kellam the head of HH#836, age 31 with real estate valued at $20,000. Listed with her were Maria Scarburgh, age 55; and Thos. R. Joynes Jr., age 23 and farming.

She made a will 12 Aug 1850 in Accomack Co, VA.(271) A white marble tomb to be purchased & erected over my remains, the best that can be purchased for $100. To my mother Eliza Maria Scarburgh my farm on Occohannock Creek called Hedra Cottage, also a few acres near Craddockville called Peaks Point which I purchased to furnish Hedra Cottage with timber & at her death to my nephew Thomas E. C. Custis & if he leaves no lawful heir, then to his brother John W. Custis & if he leaves no lawful heir, then to my cousin William Scarburgh, son of Thomas Scarburgh, to him & his heirs by the name of Scarburgh. To my nephew John W. Custis my Negro boy John & girl Lydia & if he leaves no lawful heir, then to his brother Thomas E. C. Custis. To my 2 nephews all my right in the Negroes left me by husband except the 2 above mentioned & one named York, which I leave free & $20 shall be paid to him, but none of the Negroes are to be sold out of Accomack County ... To Thomas E. C. Custis (under age) ... To John W. Custis (under age) $100 ... To my mother Eliza M. Scarburgh ... Residue to nephews John W. Custis & Thomas E. C. Custis. Robert J. Poulson Extr. Witt: Kendall F. Addison, Caroline J. Addison & William Addison.

Jane's will was probated 27 Dec 1852 in Accomack Co, VA.(272) James W. Custis & Tully A. T. Joynes securities on the $10,000 bond.
