Margaret Blair3 Christian (Catharine2 Ker, Edward1)(290) was born in Northampton Co, VA 1782.(291) Margaret died 31 May 1834 at 51 years of age.(292) Her body was interred in Ames Plot, Painter, Acc Co, VA.(293) Her tombstone shows her as Margaret Ames, wife of Richard Ames, who died on 31 May 1834 at the age of 52 years.

She married twice. She married Zorobabel Ames circa 1801 in Accomack Co, VA.(294) Zorobabel was born circa 1780 in Accomack Co, VA. Zorobabel(295) was the son of Zorobabel Ames and Elizabeth Kellam. Zorobabel died Feb 1810 at 29 years of age.(296) She married Rev. Richard Ames 23 Nov 1812 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(297) Avery Melvin was the security on the M.L.B. of Richard Ames and Margaret Ames, widow.

Richard was born 11 Apr 1776 in Accomack Co, VA.(298) Richard(299) was the son of Thomas Ames and Tabitha Mears. Richard died 20 Nov 1834 at 58 years of age.(300) His body was interred in Ames Plot, Painter, Acc Co, VA.(301) His tombstone shows him as Richard Ames, husband of Margaret.

Margaret was named in her father's will 9 Nov 1799 in Northampton Co, VA.(302) She was shown as a daughter Margaret Christian (under age) in the will of William Christian. She was given negroes James, Sabrah, Nanny, Leah, and George, mahogany case of drawers, a large church Bible, silver shoe buckles that were her mother's, gold sleeve buttons marked "C.C.", and all her mother's juelry. My daughter Margaret to live with my kinsman William Seymour and he to oversee her estate until she is of lawful age. My daughter Margaret not to marry without the consent of Mr. & Mrs. Seymour.

Margaret was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(303) She was shown as Margaret Christian, a daughter of Catherine Christian dec'd and a niece of Edward Ker the younger.

Margaret was named in her husband's will 3 Dec 1809 in Accomack Co, VA.(304) She was shown only as wife [no name] in the will of Zorobabel Ames. She was given the remainder of my real estate [not sold] & the whole of my Negroes until they shall be free, the respective period of which may be known by reference to a Deed of Emancipation, except such Negroes as I may fall heir to in right of my wife out of the estate of John Christian until my son George Christian [Ames] shall arrive at lawful age ... Also the Negroes which I may fall heir to of the above estate, if over age 25, should have the choice either to go free or remain with my wife so that they could become free without leaving the State. To wife all the profits of my land & Negroes over & above the support of herself & children & the education of my children until son George arrives to lawful age. To wife 1/3 part of land not sold during her life or widowhood. My Extr. should have my new house finished. Friend William Seymour Extr. Codicil: 10 Jan 1810 - In case of death or marriage of wife before son George arrives to lawful age, then the whole of the profits that may arise from the time of service of my Negroes until the same expires shall go to my daughters Elizabeth & Catharine.

On 24 Mar 1810, Margaret Ames was a buyer at the estate sale of Zorobabel Ames.(305)

Margaret was named in the will of a cousin 31 Jan 1826 in Accomack Co, VA.(306) She was shown as Margaret Ames the wife of Richard Ames in the will of Edward H. Ker and along with William A. Christian, David Bowman, Leah Seymour and 4 children of Richard D. Bayler, was to receive part of his estate if Edward Smith Snead's children all died under the age 21.

George was named in his father's will 3 Dec 1809 in Accomack Co, VA.(309) He was shown as a son George Christian Ames in the will of Zorobabel Ames.

George was named in his uncle's will 20 Apr 1839 in Northampton Co, VA.(310) He was shown as a nephew George E. Ames in the will of William A. Christian.

George was named as administrator of an estate 29 Nov 1841 in Accomack Co, VA.(311) It was on this date that George C. Ames was named to settle the estate of John A. Ames. George S. Mapp was the security.

child 64 ii. Elizabeth L. Ames(312) was born in Accomack Co, VA circa 1804. She married Edward Stevenson 3 Dec 1827 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(313) Shadrach T. Ames & Samuel Walston were the securities on the M.L.B. of Edward Stephenson and Elizabeth L. Ames of Zorobabel.

Edward was born circa 1805 in Accomack Co, VA.

Elizabeth was named in her father's will 3 Dec 1809 in Accomack Co, VA.(314) She was shown as a daughter Elizabeth Ames in the will of Zorobabel Ames.

child + 65 iii. Catherine C. Ames was born 15 Apr 1806.

Taylor, wife of Samuel T. Taylor, who died on 17 Nov 1836 at the age of 22 years. She married Samuel T. Taylor 2 Feb 1834 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(319) John W. Colonna was the security on the M.L.B. of Samuel T. Taylor and Isabella C. Ames.

Samuel was born circa 1810 in Accomack Co, VA.

Isabella was named in her father's will 26 Sep 1834 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(320) She was shown as a daughter Charlotte Isabella Ames in the will of Richard Ames. She was given all the land in the south corner of my tract ... from the road leading to Pungoteague ... with houses ... 1/3 of the woods called Hammock & ½ the woods called Bar Swamp & ½ of the cleared land attached to said swamp.

child 68 vi. Lauretta Margaret Ames(321) was born in Accomack Co, VA circa 1816. Lauretta was named in her father's will 26 Sep 1834 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(322) She was shown as a daughter Lauretta Margaret in the will of Richard Ames and was given all the rest of my land ...
