2. Jean2 Ker (Edward1)(27) was born in Accomack Co, VA circa 1755.(28) Jean died before Sep 1797.(29) She was not named in her husband's will of 1797.

She married Edmund Scarburgh circa 1770.(30) Edmund was born circa 1750 in Accomack Co, VA. Edmund(31) was the son of William Meredith Scarburgh I and Alice (-----). Edmund died Dec 1799 at 49 years of age.(32)

Jean was named in her father's will 17 May 1786 in Accomack Co, VA.(33) She was named as daughter Jean Scarburgh in the will of Edward Ker. Daughters Jean Scarbrough, Catharine Christian & Ann Revell were given the lands I hold in Gloucestor containing 243 1/4 acres.

Jean was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(34) She was shown as Jane Scarburgh, dec'd, a daughter of Edward Ker the elder and a sister of the whole blood of Edward Ker the younger and the mother of Edmund Scarburgh Jr., Margaret Coward, Alice Bayly & Edward, William & Elizabeth Scarburgh. (Note: This list only 6 children, but when David Bowman's estate was settled, Thomas Bayly Jr. received for his 1/7 of the 1/9 part of the estate of Edward Ker Jr. due him in right of his wife £16.11.0. The missing child would have been Ann Scarburgh who married James J. Teackle.)

Jean Ker and Edmund Scarburgh had the following children:

child 12 i. Ann3 Scarburgh(35) was born in Accomack Co, VA circa 1770. She married James J. Teackle circa 1800.(36) James was born circa 1780 in Accomack Co, VA.

Ann was named in her brother's will 14 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(37) She was only named as Ann S. Teackle, but she was left several items in the will of Edward Ker Scarburgh. It is assumed that she was his sister.

child + 13 ii. Catherine Margaret 'Peggy' Scarburgh was born 6 Mar 1772.

child + 14 iii. Alice Scarburgh was born circa 1774.

child 15 iv. Edward Ker Scarburgh(38) was born in Accomack Co, VA circa 1780. Edward died Sep 1807 at 27 years of age.(39) Edward was named in his father's will 14 Sep 1797 in Accomack Co, VA.(40) He was named as an underage son Edward K. Scarburgh in the will of Edmund Scarburgh Sr.

Edward was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(41) He was shown as Edward Scarburgh, a son of Jane Scarburgh dec'd and a nephew of Edward Ker the younger.

He made a will 14 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(42) To brother William Meredith Scarburgh the land from my father as may be seen in his will. To sisters Alice Bayly & Catherine Coard $1,000 each to be paid by my brother William M. Scarburgh in consideration of the land I gave him within 2 years of my death. To sister Eliza Ker Scarburgh the use of $1,000. To sister Alice Bayly Negro woman Betty Wiggin. My brother Edmund Scarburgh to live on plantation with brother William. William is to pay to the guardian of my sister Eliza annually for her support the interest on the $1,000 after 1 Jan 1808. To Ann S. Teackle a morning suit & my mare & £45 to purchase a carriage. All my personal estate be sold immediately. To Catharine Coard & Alice Bayly $1,000 more to be paid to each of them by my brother William M. Scarburgh in consideration of the land I gave him. Samuel Coard Extr. Witt: Esther Scarburgh, Henry Folio & Isaac W. Avery. Codicil: My brother William M. Scarburgh to pay Catherine Coard, Alice Bayly, Eliza K. Scarburgh & brother Edmund Scarburgh a sum equal to 4/5 of my personal estate in consideration of the land I gave him. In addition to the £45 to Ann S. Teackle, a sum sufficient to purchase an elegant gig in place of a common carriage. Witt: Samuel Coard.

Edward's will was probated 28 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(43) It was revealed that Samuel Coard, the witness on the Codicil, was the husband of Catherine Coard, but William M. Scarburgh appeared and agreed to the terms of the Codicil. William M. Scarburgh & Thomas Bayly Jr. securities.

Edward was named as an heir of Rev War Vetran 31 Jan 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(44) In the estate settlement of David Bowman, he was shown as Edward K. Sarburgh and received £16.11.0 for his 1/7 of 1/9 of the estate of Edward Ker Jr., which went to his administrator Samuel Coard. (Note: The settlement was finally recored on 31 Jan 1825, but the actual payment may have been years earlier, as David Bowman died in 1805.)

Edmund was named in his brother's will 14 Sep 1807 in Accomack Co, VA.(47) He was named as brother Edmund Scarburgh in the will of Edward Ker Scarburgh.

Edmund was named in his brother's will 24 Mar 1821 in Accomack Co, VA.(48) He was named as brother Edmund Scarburgh in the will of William M. Scarburgh.
