He married Elizabeth Seymour 30 Oct 1810 (bond) in Accomack Co, VA.(325) Elizabeth was born circa 1796 in Accomack Co, VA. Elizabeth(326) was the daughter of George Christian Seymour and Margaret (-----).
William was named in his father's will 9 Nov 1799 in Northampton Co, VA.(327) He was shown as a son William Christian (under age) in the will of William Christian and was given his 400 acre plantation. I lend to my son William my 400 acre plantation, but if he should try to sell or die without heirs, then I give to my next eldest son living. If they both die then I give the land to my daughter Margaret Christian. To my son William my negro woman Bett and Candas, silver shoe buckles, and gold sleeve buttons marked "W.C." Friend George Ker to supervise the estate of my son William until he is of lawful age.
William was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(328) He was shown as William Christian, a son of Catherine Christian dec'd and a nephew of Edward Ker the younger.
William was named as an heir of Rev War Vetran 31 Jan 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(329) In the estate settlement of David Bowman, he was shown as William Christian your ward and received £38.12.5 of the estate of Edward Ker Jr. (Note: The settlement was finally recored on 31 Jan 1825, but the actual payment may have been years earlier, as David Bowman died in 1805.)
William was named in the will of a cousin 31 Jan 1826 in Accomack Co, VA.(330) He was shown as William A. Christian in the will of Edward H. Ker and along with Margaret Ames the wife of Richard Ames, David Bowman, Leah Seymour and 4 children of Richard D. Bayler, was to receive part of his estate if Edward Smith Snead's children all died under the age 21.
He made a will 20 Apr 1839 in Northampton Co, VA.(331) He left to wife the "right to remain in my mansion house and to cultivate my plantation" if she choose, and pay rent, and receive a third of the net profits of the whole estate during her life. To son William 2/3 of his plantation (which was Locust Grove) during wife's life, then William to have the whole, also 14 negroes. William was to receive a liberal education and a profession. The testator gave his executors authority to send son William to school or college south of the Potomac; if son refuses selection, wife to have above slaves & plantation; if she should be dead, then to 2 grandchildren. If all should be dead, then plantation & slaves should go to nephews George E. & John A. Ames. He would perfer son to study legal profession, but "if my executors think his talents better suited to medicine or some other liberal profession," then he should pursue that. The executor should have such authority until son completes his study for a career. Remainder was to go to 2 grandchildren, William Seymour Christian & George Christian, and mentioned "my 2 grown sons." Executors & guardians of son & grandsons were to be friends Wm. B. Seymour & Miers W. Fisher. Witt: Miers W. Fisher, Matilda J. Ames, Susan W. Johnson, Jas. M. Savage, and A.W. Downing. In a codicil or 21 Mar 1840, grandson George having died, his share to brother William S. Christian, with conditions.
