William Seymour4 Christian (William Armistead3, Catharine2 Ker, Edward1)(743) was born in Northampton Co, VA circa 1825.(744) William died 19 Jan 1907 in Norfolk, VA, at 81 years of age.(745) William S. Christian died last Saturday, aged 82, in Protestant Hospital, in Norfolk, from Nassawadox. He was a Confederate soldier (ESH 25 Jan 1907).
He married Susan Wilkins 11 Jun 1845 (bond) in Northampton Co, VA.(746) M.W. Fisher, W.B. Upshur & George F. Wilkins were the securities on the M.L.B. of William S. Christian and Miss Susan Wilkins. William was the ward of M.W. Fisher and Susan was the daughter of George F. Wilkins. They were married on 19 Jun 1845 by J. Ufford.
Susan was born 25 Mar 1825 in Northampton Co, VA.(747) Susan(748) was the daughter of George F. Wilkins and Margaret (-----). Susan died 29 Dec 1852 at 27 years of age.(749) Her body was interred in Popular Grove, Occohannock Neck, N'hamp Co, VA.(750)
William was named in his father's will 20 Apr 1839 in Northampton Co, VA.(751) He was shown as an underage son William in the will of William A. Christian and was given 2/3 of his plantation during wife's life, then William was to have the whole.
William was listed as a head of household in the census of 1850 in Northampton Co, VA.(752) He was shown as Wm. S. Christian, the head of HH#612, a 26 year old farmer with real estate valued at $10,000. Listed with him were the following Christians: Susan, age 22; Seymour, age 14; Elizabeth S., age 2. Also listed was Susan W. Johnson, age 50; Samuel Fulla, a 26 year old portrait painter and Peggy Becket, a 33 and black, born in MS. (Note: Seymour, age 14, was Wm. Seymour Christian, the son of his brother George S. Christian.)
William was listed as a head of household in the census of 1860 in Northampton Co, VA.(753) He was shown as Wm. S. Christian the head of HH#478, a 35 year old farmer. Listed with him were James F. Johnson, age 21 and John C. Johnson, age 18. He was listed next door to Heber Ker, a 23 year old farmer in HH#477. His real estate was valued at $17,000 and his personal property valued at $12,600.
He made a will 20 Nov 1906 in Northampton Co, VA.(754) He made small bequests to Maggie W. Smith wife of Dr. Chas. Smith, Elizabeth B. Robinson, and Dr. Teakle Jacob Smith. To Edmund Seymour Christian, son of Rupert Christian, of Accomack Co, he left his main dwelling house on his farm in N'hamp Co. & 80 acres, then to his children or descendants, Edward also to have "all my oyster beds." If Edward dies without heirs, property to go to Florence Hutchinson, wife of Oswald Hutchinson of Accomack Co., and Gertrude Core, each to have 1/3 of surplus of estate, the other 1/3 to Hungar's Church. Extr. John H. Ker and Mention W. Talbot as attorney for my estate. In a codicil he named John H. Harmanson instead of Ker; in another codicil, 17 Jan 1907, Jas. F. Johnson was to receive 10 acres.

daughter of William & Susan M. Christian.
Elizabeth was listed with her parents in the census of 1850 in Northampton Co, VA.(759) She was shown as Elizabeth S. Christian, age 2 in HH#612 headed by Wm. S. Christian, a 26 year old farmer.
