He married Eliza S. Robins 26 Jun 1805 in Accomack Co, VA.(339) George Burton was the security on the M.L.B. of John K. Revell and Eliza S. Robins. According to Matthew Wise, she was his cousin.
Eliza was born circa 1785 in Worcester Co, MD.(340) Eliza(341) was the daughter of Daniel G. Robins and Comfort Stockley. Eliza died before 16 May 1809 in Accomack Co, VA, at approximately 23 years of age.(342) She was evidently deceased when her husband wrote his will.
John was named in a land cause 4 Mar 1801 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(343) He was shown as John Revell, a son of Ann Revell dec'd and a nephew of Edward Ker the younger.
John was named in a land cause 23 Mar 1803 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(344) He was shown as John Revell Jr., son of Edward Revell, in a partition suit against his Margaret & Edward Revell. There had been four children: John, Margaret & Leah by one marriage and Edward by another marriage.
John land was surveyed 1803 in Accomack Co, VA.(345) A survey for the division of the land of the late Edward Revell showed 1,685 acres on Pungoteague Creek; 625 east of the Bayside read went to John K. Revell, 560 acres to Margaret Revell, and the home part to Edward A. Revell.
John was named in his uncle's will 28 Aug 1806 in Accomack Co, VA.(346) He was shown as a nephew John K. Revell and given a suit of mourning by John Shepherd Ker.
He made a will 16 May 1809 in Accomack Co, VA.(347) The lands deeded me by George Marshall adjoining the lands of William Welburne & others near Horntown & also the lands on Chincoteague Island, both of which formerly belonged to my wife, the lots purchased of the Extrs. of David Bowman(?) & William B. Addison & wife whereon I now reside & 29 acres of wood land lying on the west side of the county road leading from Pungoteague to Onancock, being part of a tract that belonged to my dec'd father, to be sold on the following terms ... The land which has fallen to my daughter Comfort Ann Revell by the death of her Aunt Joice Robins also to be sold. If daughter refuses, then when she arrives at lawful age she is to forfeit 4 time the amount & ... To Extr. William Seymour ½ of my water grist mill & stream in consideration of the trouble in the settlement. My wearing apparel to my brother Edward & 2 cousins William Revell & John B. Revell. To sister Margaret & brother Edward each a suit of mourning. To daughter Comfort Ann Revell the remaining part of my personal & real estate consisting of 594 acres lying on the east side of the road leading from Pungoteague to Onancock & my Island lands known as Revells Island, but if she dies under age & without issue, then the lands to my cousins John B. Revell & Hugh G. Seymour & personal estate to cousin William Revell. My uncle William Seymour should take the guardianship of my daughter. Uncle William Seymour Extr. John's will was probated 26 Feb 1810 in Accomack Co, VA.(348) Samuel Downing & James Poulson securities.
John was named as an heir of Rev War Vetran 31 Jan 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(349) In the estate settlement of David Bowman, he was shown as John Revell and received £57.18.8 for his 1/2 of the 1/9 part of the estate of Edward Ker Jr. (Note: The settlement was finally recored on 31 Jan 1825, but the actual payment may have been years earlier, as David Bowman died in 1805.)
John estate was settled 28 Feb 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(350) 19 Mar & 9 May 1810 (Invy), 21 Mar 1810 (Sale), 3 & 28 Feb 1825 (Audit & Rec'd) - Appraisers: John Finney, Isaac Smith & William A. Christian. William Seymour Extr. Houses & lots & 29 acres of woodlands sold agreeable to the will of the dec'd. Col. Thomas Parker for his ward Edward Revell. Cash paid for a suit of mourning for Margaret S. Revell. Cash paid to Samuel Ross who intermarried with Margaret S. Revell the balance of an account due Margaret S. Revell. A suit of mourning left Edward Revell in John K. Revell's will. Cash paid to T. Evans for surveying Chincoteague Island land. Cash paid to E. Beauchamp for balance due him by John K. age.(352) Comfort was named in her father's
will 16 May 1809 in Accomack Co, VA.(353) She was
shown as a daughter Comfort Ann Revell in the will of John K. Revell. She inherited land from her Aunt Joice Robins. John's Uncle William
Seymour was to become her guardian.
Comfort's estate was administered 25 Feb 1823 in Accomack Co, VA.(354) It was on this date that Thomas R. Joynes was named to settle the estate of Comfort A. Revell. Levin S. Joynes & John B. Walker were the securities.
Comfort estate was settled 31 Jan 1825 in Accomack Co, VA.(355) 19 Apr 1823 (Invy & Sale), 5 & 31 Jan 1825 (Audit & Rec'd) - Money was received from her former guardians Seymour & Ker. Auditor: Thomas R. Joynes. Appraisers: William Parramore Jr., William Gillett & William P. Custis. Thomas R. Joynes Admr. Cash received of Edward H. Ker guardian, late guardian impart of balance due by him $40. Cash received of the Extrs. of Rev. William Seymour dec'd, former guardian in full of balance due by him to Comfort Ann Revell. Cash received of Edward H. Ker late guardian in full of balance due by him to Comfort Ann Revell. Thomas R. Joynes Admr. Auditors: William P. Custis. According to Whitelaw, in the division of her estate in 1823 the north half of her land went to Hugh G. Seymour and the south to John B. Revell.
