She married Judge Henry Littleton Upshur 22 Nov 1876 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽¹²⁸⁸⁾ He was shown as Henry L. Upshur, a 22 year old farmer, born in Norfolk City, VA & living in N'hamp Co, the son of George L. & Sarah A.B. Upshur and she was shown as Alice Y. Kerr, age 23, born & living in N'hamp Co, the daughter of Hugh & Anne E. Kerr. They were married by Rev. Arthur S. Johns. Bible records show they were married in Christ Church, Eastville, by Rev. A.S. Johns, Rector of Hungers Parish. She was shown as Alice Yerby Kerr, only daughter of Hugh and Annie E. Kerr. According to Matthew Wise, they were distant cousins.

Henry was born 29 Oct 1854 in Norfolk, VA.⁽¹²⁸⁹⁾ Henry⁽¹²⁹⁰⁾ was the son of Dr. George Littleton Upshur and Sarah Andrew B. Parker. Henry died 26 Nov 1940 at 86 years of age.⁽¹²⁹¹⁾ His body was interred in Christ Ch Cem, Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽¹²⁹²⁾

Alice was listed with her parents in the census of 1860 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽¹²⁹³⁾ She was shown as Alice Y. Kerr, age 6 in HH#282 headed by Hugh Kerr, a 28 year old farmer.

Alice was listed with her parents in the census of 1870 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽¹²⁹⁴⁾ She was shown as Alice Kerr, age 16 & attending school in HH#311 headed by Hugh Kerr, a 38 year old clerk of whart.

Alice was listed with her husband in the census of 1880 in Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽¹²⁹⁵⁾ She was shown as Alice S. Upshur, a 26 year old wife and keeping house in a household headed by Henry Upshur, a 25 year old farmer.

According to the 1900 census Elsie had borne 9 children, but only 2 survived.⁽¹²⁹⁶⁾

Upshur, age 22, born & living in N'hamp Co, the daughter of Henry L. & Alice Upshur. Bible records show they were married on 28 Nov. 1900 (the county record may have been a license) by the Rev. W.N. Mead in Christ Church, Eastville, VA. He was shown as James Rutherford Lumley Jr. and she was shown as Gertrude Parker, eldest daughter of Henry L. & Alice K. Upshur.

Upshur. Elsie died 24 Jul 1966 at 85 years of age.⁽¹³¹¹⁾ Her body was interred in Christ Ch Cem, Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽¹³¹²⁾ Her tombstone shows her as Elsie Upshur Jarvis, wife of Kendall Addison Jarvis. She married Kendall Addison Jarvis 15 Oct 1908 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽¹³¹³⁾ He was shown as Kendall Jarvis, a 28 year old timber salesman, the son of James A. & Alice M.
