She married John A. Mears 28 Feb 1873 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽¹³³⁷⁾ He was shown as John A. Mears, a 24 year old collector, the son of Jno. W.A. & Hester Mears and she was shown as Eliza C. Powell, age 19, the daughter of George L. & Sally Powell. They were married by J.E. Humphreys.

John was born circa 1850 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽¹³³⁸⁾ John⁽¹³³⁹⁾ was the son of John W.A. Mears and Hester 'Hetty' Pusey.

Eliza C. Powell and John A. Mears had the following children:

Sarah Essie⁷ Mears⁽¹³⁴⁰⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA 1876.⁽¹³⁴¹⁾ Sarah died 1939 at 63 years of age.⁽¹³⁴²⁾ Her body was interred in St. George Ep Ch Cem, Pungoteague, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁴³⁾ Her tombstone shows her as Sarah E. Mears Bonniwell, the wife of George C. Bonniwell. She married George Cornelius Bonnewell 1899.⁽¹³⁴⁴⁾

George was born 2 May 1874 in Pungoteague PO, St.George Parish, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁴⁵⁾ He was shown as Geo. T. Bonewell, who was born 3 May 1974 in Pungoteague Township, the son of John T. Bonewell, a laborer who was living in Pungoteague Township, and his wife Marg't. His tombstones shows 2 May 1874. George⁽¹³⁴⁶⁾ was the son of John Thomas Bonnewell and Margaret Ann Gibbons.

George died 16 Aug 1941 at 67 years of age.⁽¹³⁴⁷⁾ His body was interred in St. George Ep Ch Cem, Pungoteague, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁴⁸⁾ His tombstone shows him as George C. Bonniwell.

234 ii. Emma L. Mears⁽¹³⁴⁹⁾ was born 9 Mar 1887.⁽¹³⁵⁰⁾ Emma died 5 Mar 1960 at 72 years of age.⁽¹³⁵¹⁾ Her body was interred in J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁵²⁾ She married William A. Hall circa 1902.⁽¹³⁵³⁾ William was born 1 Nov 1885 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽¹³⁵⁴⁾ William⁽¹³⁵⁵⁾ was the son of Henry Allen J. Hall and Amanda W. Lewis. William died 4 Aug 1972 at 86 years of age.⁽¹³⁵⁶⁾ His body was interred in J.W. Taylor Cem, Temperanceville, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁵⁷⁾ William A. Hall was living in Baltimore, MD, in 1940 when he was named as a surviving son of his mother, Amanda W. Hall (E.S. News, 17 May 1940).
