82. Hugh⁴ Ker (Dr. John³, Rev. George², Edward¹)⁽⁸⁰⁶⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA 28 Feb 1831.⁽⁸⁰⁷⁾

He married Annie Elizabeth Yerby 31 Aug 1852 (lic) in MD-VA Line, Wor Co, MD.⁽⁸⁰⁸⁾ They were shown only as Hugh Ker and Annie E. Yerby. Bible records show they were married on 3 Sep 1852. They were married 200 yards from the MD-VA line by Rev. Waters. The John Ker Sr. Familiy Bible shows they were married on 3 Sep 1852 in Maryland about 200 yards from the Virginia line by Rev. Mr. Warters.

Annie was born 1834 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸⁰⁹⁾ Annie⁽⁸¹⁰⁾ was the daughter of Dr. George T. Yerby and Charlotte Hack Jacob. Annie died 1914 at 80 years of age.⁽⁸¹¹⁾ Her body was interred in Christ Ch Cem, Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽⁸¹²⁾ Her tombstone shows her as Ann Elizabeth Ker Yerby, 1834-1914.

Hugh was listed with his brother in the census of 1850 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸¹³⁾ He was shown as Hugh Ker, age 19 in HH#220 headed by George Ker, a 25 year old physican.

Hugh was listed as a head of household in the census of 1860 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸¹⁴⁾ He was shown as Hugh Kerr the head of HH#282, a 28 year old farmer. Listed with him were the following Kerrs: Ann E., age 24; Alice Y., age 6; and George Y., age 3.

Hugh was listed as a head of household in the census of 1870 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸¹⁵⁾ He was shown as Hugh Kerr the head of HH#311, a 58 (probably 38) year old clerk of whart. Listed with him were the following Kerrs: Annie, age 34 and farming; Alice, age 16 & attending school; and Yerby, age 14 & attending school. Also listed was Marg't Teackle, age 65 & at home; and Kate Hageman, age 69 and a house keeper.

Hugh Ker and Annie Elizabeth Yerby had the following children:

George Yerby Ker⁽⁸¹⁶⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA 1856.⁽⁸¹⁷⁾ George died 1925 at 69 years of age.⁽⁸¹⁸⁾ His body was interred in Christ Ch Cem, Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽⁸¹⁹⁾ He married Mary Hannah Jarvis 23 Nov 1881 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸²⁰⁾ He was shown as George Y. Kerr, a 25 year old single mercantile agent, born in N'hamp Co & living in Baltimore, MD, the son of Hugh & Annie E. Kerr and she was shown as Mary H. Jarvis, age 23, born in Accomack Co & living in N'hamp Co, the daughter of Thomas B. & Mary H. Jarvis. They were married by Rev. George M. Easter.

Mary was born 1859 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽⁸²¹⁾ Mary⁽⁸²²⁾ was the daughter of Thomas William Jarvis and Mary Hannah Scherer. Mary died 1952 at 93 years of age.⁽⁸²³⁾ Her body was interred in Christ Ch Cem, Eastville, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽⁸²⁴⁾ Her tombstone shows her as Mary Jarvis Kerr, wife of George Yerby Kerr.

George was listed with his parents in the census of 1860 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸²⁵⁾ He was shown as George Y. Kerr, age 3 in HH#282 headed by Hugh Kerr, a 28 year old farmer.

George was listed with his parents in the census of 1870 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁸²⁶⁾ He was shown as Yerby Kerr, age 14 & attending school in HH#311 headed by Hugh Kerr, a 38 year old clerk of whart. According to Matthew Wise, there were no children.
