He married twice. He married Mary D. Wallop 22 Nov 1854 (lic) in Accomack Co, VA.(833) He was shown as Edward R. Snead of Edward S., dec'd and she was shown as Mary D. Wallop of David, dec'd.

Mary was born circa 1831 in Accomack Co, VA.(834) Mary(835) was the daughter of David Wallop and Mary H. Wallop. He married Helen Robinson Jarvis 16 Dec 1872 in Onancock, Acc Co, VA.(836) He was shown as Edward K. Snead, a 45 year old widowed lawyer, the son of Edw'd Smith & Susan Snead and she was shown as Helen R. Jarvis, age 21, born & living in Acc Co, the daughter of Thos. B. & Mary H. Jarvis. They were married by J. Atkinson.

Helen was born circa 1852 in Accomack Co, VA.(837) Helen(838) was the daughter of Thomas William Jarvis and Mary Hannah Scherer.

Edward was listed with his parents in the census of 1850 in St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(839) He was shown as Edw. K. Snead, a 22 year old student in HH#281 headed by Edw'd S. Snead, a 57 year old farmer born in Northampton Co, VA, with real estate valued at $30,665.

Edward was named in his father's will 7 Jul 1852 in Accomack Co, VA.(840) He was shown as a son Edward K. Snead in the will of Edward S. Snead. He was given the plantation on Chincoteague where William Turlington lives (& other persons) including all the land on Chincoteague given to me by my dec'd friend Edward H. Ker as named in his will. He was also given my bookcase & books given to me by Edward H. Ker dec'd writing table & ... (Note: The plantation on Chincoteague was also called "Corbin Hall.")

Edward reported a death 15 Aug 1858 in Accomack Co, VA.(841) It was on this date that Edw'd K. Snead reported the death of his son Edw'd K. Snead, who died of unknown causes at the age of 5 months.

Edward was listed with his brother in the census of 1860 in Onancock P.O., St. George Parish, Acc Co, VA.(842) He was shown as Edward K. child 161 iv. John G. Snead(852) was born in Accomack Co, VA 7 Apr 1863. John died 6 Nov 1864 at 1 year of age. His body was interred in Scott Hall, Onancock, Acc Co, VA. His tombstone shows him as John G. Snead, the son of Edward K. & Mary D. Snead.
