Notes for William BIBBY
William came to America in 1620 /21 on the Swan. He arrived 13 years after the founding of the colony in 1607. His name appers in many court records, as a witness, etc. His wife, Mary, arrived in 1636 bringing with her 6 persons.
William was given 400 acres, in Accomack on the north side of Kings Creek, and adjoining on the west the land of Cpt. Epps. Due: 50 A. for his own personal adventure, 50 A for the personal adventure of his wife, Mary, and 300 for the transportation of six persons; John Leech, Christopher Colvert, William Stephen, Archibald Richard, John FitzGarrall, & Ann Gedon. Williams friend, Thomas Sparkes came to America on the Susan Feb. 7, 1616, at the age of 24. Source: American Plantations and Colonies. He appeared in 1624 records as being with William on the Eastern Shore.

Notes for Edmond I BIBBY
The court records of Jan. 1650/51, Edmond Bibby, about 15 or 16 years of age, "set at liberty" from his guardian. Shows birth year 1635. Edmond I had two children Edmond II & Elizabeth. Elizabeth married George Freshwater. Source: Copies of Wills of Elizabeth & George Freshwater. LDS film.
Edmonds wills son Edmond the estate & leaves a ring to Elizabeth & livestock to her children. ( She had three at that time & 2 later). Edmond refers to George Freshwater as his brother in his Will.

3 Bibby [5] (Edmond I2, William1), born Apr 1658 in Northampton Co. VA; died 4 Mar 1696 in Northampton Co. VA. He married abt. 1680 in Northampton Co. VA, Ester Floyd [6], born prob. in Northampton Co. VA; died aft. 1697 in Northampton Co. VA, daughter of John Floyd [23] and Mary poss. Berry [24].

Notes for Edmund II BIBBY
Edmond had large estate which he left to son John. His portion of Hogg Island was the upper third of the 3500 acres obtained by Thomas Hunt, John Floyd & Edmond II by transporting persons to the colony, and other land he had purchased. Edmond II had sold the original Bibby Estate in 1677/78 to John Michael. Left to son John in 1689 who in turn left to children of Elizabeth Benthall by common-law. in 1720.
