The Will of Lisney GOOTEE November 17, 1794 Transcribed and posted by ghote Bob Gootee.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. I Lisney Gootee of Accomack County in the Commomwealth of Virginia being of sound Disposing mind memory and Understanding do ordain this writing to be my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following Viz I do give and bequeath unto my son John Gootee and to his heirs and assigns forever all the lands that I am alledged or possessed with or have any claim right or title to him and his heirs forever. In case that my son John Gootee should die without a lawful heir it is my will and desire that it should be equally divided between my two daughters to wit Hannah Gootee and Elizabeth Gootee and to their heirs and assigns forever for every item that is in my will and desire that all my just debts shall be paid out of my movellable property and the remainder of it divided between my two daughters to wit Hannah Gootee and Elizabeth Gootee and to their heirs and assigns forever and lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my brother John Gootee and my friend Revel Patterson Executors of this my last will and testament and do hereby revoke and annul all former wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made and do ordain this only to be my last will and testaments.

Item that it is my will and desire that my executors shall sell as much as my moveable estate as shall pay of a deed and trust to Capt Richard Drummond on a part of my land given under my hand and seal this seventeenth day of November Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Four.
