Capt. George Stewart Wise was born 7 Jan 1788 at Craney Island, Virginia; he died about 1823.  Served in the war of 1812, and the U.S. Navy.  He received a congressional Medal for his service.  Son of George Douglas Wise (AKA: Craney Island George) and Catherine Elizabeth Stewart.
