Adam Wallace (1825-1903) was an Irish immigrant who became an itinerant Methodist preacher, Presiding Elder of the Methodist Episcopal Church, newspaper publisher, author of Parsons of the Islands (still an important source for Eastern Shore history) organizer of the first Black Methodist Conference, ardent Unionist during the civil War, church historian, a fuonder of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Ocean Grove, New Jersey, and a leader in the camp meeting and holiness movement of the post-civil war era.
